We supplement our P.E. provision with additional units of learning from the Primary PE Planning Scheme. In Key Stage One, children complete additional work to develop their ball skills. While in Key Stage two, we introduce a range of team-based sports, further developing team tactics and gameplay, ready for transition to sport specific P.E. at secondary school.
In addition to the provision outlined above, our links with Birmingham Sports Partnership allow the children to take part in various competitions and events to develop their teamwork, communication and leadership. To further develop the skills learned in P.E., children will be given the opportunity to play a variety of different sports at lunchtime and after school clubs; these clubs are subsidised by the school to ensure that they are accessible to all of our school community. The sports available to children will be both team centred and individual sports: football, basketball, netball, cricket, yoga, dance, gymnastics and multi-sports.
